About Marnie.

For more than 20 years, I have worked at the intersection of tourism, astronomy, conservation and community — helping destinations create meaningful night-time experiences while safeguarding natural darkness.

As founder of the Australasian Dark Sky Alliance I have advocated nationally for the protection of Australia’s night skies and supported the establishment of dark sky tourism strategies across the country.

I consult with communities and councils on dark sky placemaking, tourism development and responsible lighting practices.

industry collaboration

Partnering with councils, communities and tourism operators to design practical dark sky programs that balance conservation, visitor experience and regional growth for lasting regional benefit.

The night sky is one of Australia’s most extraordinary natural assets — and one of the most overlooked.

Whether I am speaking, consulting, guiding or writing, my purpose remains the same: to help people fall in love with the night — and inspire them to protect it.
